This recipe I found at Chef Savvy. Of course, I used carob chips or white chocolate chips instead of chocolate chips. I also really have yet to feel a boost of energy from them, so I'm uncertain of their name's claim. But with how tiring chronic illnesses are, I'll give anything that has the word "energy" in the name a shot.
They are a delicious treat, though, that is very much like the store-bought granola bars that I had to give up because they all contained something I had to avoid. They are packed full of protein and other goodies that should be a part of a healthy diet.
Only five ingredients, and I can attest to how easy they are to make. Even right now, I have some in my fridge and some stored in the freezer (that's mostly to keep myself from eating them too fast because they are that good.) In fact, it's a good bet I'm eating one as you read this. ^_~
My main recommendation would be to get a cookie scoop. But not the ambidextrous one. I got one of those because I'm left handed, so right handed scoops are awkward. Thing broke after one use! The purple handled one I bought after has lasted much longer.
Is there a snack that claims to give a boost of energy that you've tried? Did it work? Want to give these a shot? What else would you add to it to make it tastier?
PS: I've discovered flax seed triggers my IC, so if you find this triggers you, try omitting that first.
PPS: You can add whatever you want to these too. Like coconut? Add it. Chia seeds? Go for it. Nuts will work too. This is an easy treat to customize to your tastes.
